Over the course of 3 days, we had hundreds of visitors through the GMC Software booth at GRAPH EXPO 2015 keen to discuss what the future has in store for customer communications management (CCM). And we were excited to share all the incredible new things GMC Inspire has to offer with the launch of R10 this past summer.

We conducted over 100 demos, had great discussions at our CEO event, met with key industry journalists and analysts, and talked with current and future clients.

In case you missed it – and to give you an idea of what other Service Providers like you are excited about – we’ve put together a list of the top 5 themes we uncovered at GRAPH EXPO 2015.

1. Managing the madness

The most frequent topic was around how to better manage complex customer communications. From highly personalized direct mail, to customization and versioning, to highly regulatory transactional applications, most Service Providers are looking for ways to remove unnecessary steps, and streamline their processes.

We gave several demos of Remote Authoring, a GMC Inspire Interactive capability that allows content owners to create, edit and proof their communications across every channel. The visitors to our booth saw how content owners, approvers, and compliance officers can become a part of the communication process simply by using their expertise and a browser.

Our visitors were pleased to see how easy Remote Authoring is to roll out to their large client bases. They liked how it enables them to maintain many clients on a common infrastructure, while keeping their intellectual property isolated.

2. Moving to mobile

Another hot topic was around adding mobile to the mix. With the release of R10 and the debut of GMC Software’s omnichannel view, our visitors were interested in learning how new channels can be added to existing applications. We gave many demos showing just how easy it is to add responsive design to existing applications with GMC Inspire.

If you were there you would have also seen a live demo showing how an existing Inspire Designer job could leverage data, content and design elements to create a fully responsive multichannel communication – with separate optimized views for every device. For example, a smart phone held vertically may not display video, or the full terms and conditions, but when tilted horizontally, new charts may expand. When the same file is viewed on a tablet, new advertisements and immersive experiences with sliders and videos are seen. When it moves to an even larger screen, more relevant advertisements, transaction, full contract text, and other items may appear. This is really cool stuff!

Our point was to show that the Service Providers of today have the designs, skills, and client trust to communicate across more channels – and drive new revenue streams. It’s a truly exciting time in the industry.

3. Print: not to be forgotten

Many people come to GraphExpo for the hardware. We got to check out some truly amazing new print offerings from the likes of HP, Xerox, Canon, and Ricoh. Many of our clients stopped by to see how GMC is integrating with these technologies. The GMC Inspire R10 release included over 300 customer-driven features, many of which help Inspire stay ahead of the new technologies.

We value our relationships with the print manufacturers, and integration with these technologies is a key priority for us.

4. Get more jobs out the door, faster

A lot of the conversations were about how to get more jobs out the door, faster – with less development time. Visitors were keen to see GMC Inspire’s powerful omnichannel proofing capabilities in action – and we were pleased to share it.

In case you missed the demo - yes, it really is that cool. First, GMC Inspire has a one button proofing capability that instantly makes a WYSIWYG representation of the communication, with access to a data view. It instantly checks logic, design, and appearance in every channel. Every channel can be displayed side by side to proof a multichannel experience. Then GMC Inspire creates a multichannel proofing PDF, centralizing every channel design into a single PDF. Combined, these innovations reduce time, reduce errors, and reduce development time, while speeding compliance processes.

5. Cutting costs

Cost savings never goes out of style – and this year’s visitors were focused on operational efficiency. In 2015, GMC Software won several high-profile competitive replacement jobs, enabling our clients to save large maintenance payments by removing legacy communications systems that have failed to keep the pace of communication innovations.

As a single engine for print, web, email mobile, tablet, and social communications, many clients have reduced design time by 80%, all while adding new channels and building their business offering and generating new revenue streams.

You’ve built your business on trust. Your clients trust you with their most secure forms of data to deliver superior quality pint communications, on time and on budget. Now, you have an opportunity to capitalize on the relationships you’ve built to drive new revenue streams, gain a competitive advantage, and meet the needs of a rapidly changing marketplace. And we’re here to help!
