I always like to follow the work of Doculabs, partly because they are Chicago-based, but mostly because they look deeply into the technology and processes that are underneath the most critical customer communications. They always understand some of the shaky ground that is underneath the most critical customer communications. Recently, they made a great video about their interactive analysis tool for analyzing the impact of processes optimization.

You already know that Quadient focuses on customer communications from a design, integration, and experience perspective. Quadient sees that integrations with core systems often create issues because legacy systems are supplying data and information for communications in ways that aren’t compatible with contemporary communication standards. At its best, this situation delivers great communications despite dealing with difficult underlying processes. At its worst, this situation hurts the quality of the customer communications.

Doculabs’ recent work shines a light on this issue, allowing businesses to measure how much money is saved by streamlining a process. Doculabs’ focus on how specific areas like this white paper on process mining and this video on forms digitization. Doculabs’ focus on the underlying processes and the opportunities presented by forms digitalization shows that they have developed methodologies to reduce the number of forms through streamlining, improve the process with process mining and deliver a better customer experience that improves business performance.

Once you look at the underlying processes, you are able to see opportunities to remove complexity that has grown over the years. Most enterprises discover they have unnecessary complexity that can be removed. Doculabs also uncovers opportunities to remove this complexity while also improving NIGO (Not In Good Order) stats that add cost and negatively impact the customer experience by either requiring costly follow ups or losing prospects while they are trying to buy from you.
