The Pre-sales Consultant is, as part of the sales team, responsible for the positioning of our Data Quality and DataHub solutions to existing and new customers. The Consultant subsequently offers (integrated) solutions and is co-responsible for submitting quotations.

In your role as Pre-sales Consultant you will act as a trusted adviser to customers. You are able to translate customer data quality and integration issues to practical solutions and the accompanying implementation. You work closely together with our account managers on developing sales strategies for specific customers and business sectors based on specific needs and the capabilities and benefits of our software. You also contribute to the overall product strategy through feedback from customers and market insights. You must have a strong desire to leverage your business, technical and sales skills and the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a solution and effectively demonstrate to prospects how the Quadient solution will address their requirements and deliver business value.

Preferably you have extensive experience in one of our business lines, Insurance + Banking, Publishing , Utilities, eCommerce, Telco. With an industry focus we can have better customer conversations and increase the success rate when positioning our solutions.

You are also responsible for a smooth handover from sales to our implementation consultants who are responsible for the implementation of the solution. As such you play a key role as an intermediary between account managers, customers, software engineers and other consultants, ensuring successful implementation and satisfied customers.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 

  • Active participation in opportunity discovery and sales strategy sessions
  • Provide business and technical sales support to regional sales teams
  • Product positioning against competitive solutions
  • Managing and addressing queries of proposed solutions
  • Discover customers’ business pains and identify solutions to address them
  • Developing solution proposals and collateral including presentations and demonstrations
  • Managing responses to RFIs/RFP’s
  • Scoping and managing workshops & proof of concepts
  • Responsible for the design and validation of solutions
  • Providing guidance on best practices for implementation
  • Actively help develop product expertise
  • Participate in and contribute towards the Neopost Digital Solutions community
  • Providing input from Sales into Product Development
  • Interact with product development and keep abreast of new releases and new functionality
  • The ability to recognize and communicate opportunities to up-sell based on solutions insight

The candidate

In order to qualify for this position, you have/are:

  • Professional or academic thinking and working level (in commercial or technical areas)
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position - Enterprise Software Solution Presales
  • Inside knowledge of and insight into the importance of customer data integration and quality and the related issues
  • Knowledge of business issues and processes, such as CRM, Marketing, Compliance, and Risk Management in which data quality plays an important part
  • Basic knowledge of and experience in modern databases and development environments (e.g. SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, PL/SQL)
  • Practical knowledge of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
  • Basic knowledge of common operating systems (incl. Unix and Windows NT)
  • Fluent English and Dutch language, both in speech and in writing
  • Flexible with respect to travelling
  • Experience with project management & teams is preferred (e.g. Prince 2)
