Breaking News from Canada Post: New Rates Coming in May 2024!
February 16, 2024
1 Minutes
We have just been informed that Canada Post proposes new postage rates effective May 6, 2024. The price of domestic stamps could increase to 99 cents per stamp, up by 7 cents.
This tidy little price hike comes after years of stability, with minor increases in 2019 and 2020. The reason? Rising costs and declining letter volumes.
Moreover, small businesses might see a rise of $12.07 annually (based on average annual spending); however, Canada Post aims to minimize the impact and offers support through their Small Business™ program.
Permanent™ stamps might remain unaffected, providing stability amidst changes.
What we know so far is that the proposed rates might also affect other products like U.S. and international letter-post. As an example, the price of a single stamp for a domestic letter may rise to $1.15.
Our Canada Post 2024 Mailing and Shipping guide is now available for download to help you navigate rate changes! You will have quick access to the new rates and learn about the most popular services. Note that we will publish an updated version following those potential new changes.
Please note that these changes are open for public comment before regulatory approval. We will share more details as they are coming, stay tuned as we will keep you informed.
