We have all been there. We have an item we want to ship, but are unsure of how it should be sent – should it be First-Class Mail® or Priority Mail®? What are the main differences? Below is a comparison between them, as the choice between the two will more than likely come down to weight, requirements and delivery time.
Scenario Breakdown
If you want to send an item under 13 oz. and of lesser value, that does not need to be insured, and does not need to arrive at a location at a specific date or time – First-Class Mail is your best bet. First-Class Mail pricing is often the most affordable option.
If you want to send an item over 13 oz. and of a higher value, that you would like insured, to a location within 1-3 days – Priority Mail is the service to go with. Priority Mail pricing is slightly more expensive than First-Class Mail.
