The final test
Before you commit to a CCM platform, make sure the evidence supports your decision.
A strong evaluation goes beyond the vendor demo. Independent analysis, customer outcomes, peer experiences, migration requirements, economics, and long-term fit can help you determine whether a platform is truly right for your organization.
Put your decision to the test
Independent validation Compare findings from credible third-party analysts. Look for consistent strengths, relevant capabilities, and clear limitations.
Customer proof Look for real-world examples from organizations with similar scale, complexity, or regulatory requirements. Focus on measurable outcomes and evidence of long-term value.
Peer experience Review feedback from other users to understand implementation, usability, complexity, and support. Look for recurring themes rather than isolated reviews.
Migration confidence Understand what can be migrated, what must be rebuilt, who owns each responsibility, and what the transition will require.
The economics Consider the full cost of both moving and staying. Include technical debt, custom integrations, workarounds, IT dependency, implementation, and the business impact of slow change.
Long-term fit Make sure the platform can adapt as deployment strategies, AI choices, channels, regulations, markets, and customer expectations evolve.
The final five questions
Before making your decision, can you answer yes to these?
Is the foundation independently validated?
Is there real-world evidence that it delivers?
Do we understand what it will take to move in?
Does the business case hold when we include the cost of staying put?
Can the platform adapt as our business and customers change?
If the answer is yes across the board, you are choosing based on proof, not the best pitch.
Use this simple assesment to pressure-test your CCM decision before you commit.
